Making the Most of Feedback

  • Read with open mind: Feedback is for growth, not judgment
  • Look for patterns: Common themes across multiple reviewers
  • Ask clarifying questions: Discuss unclear points with manager
  • Create action plan: Pick 2-3 things to work on
  • Track improvement: Show progress in next review cycle

Preparing for Promotion

  1. Understand the bar:
    • Read next level on career ladder
    • Ask manager what "good" looks like
    • Find examples of people at that level
  2. Build evidence:
    • Take on next-level work
    • Document impact and outcomes
    • Get feedback from peers and stakeholders
  3. Advocate for yourself:
    • Discuss promotion timeline in 1:1s
    • Write strong self-assessment
    • Highlight promotion-worthy achievements
  4. Be patient:
    • Promotions happen during review cycles
    • Need consistent next-level performance (6+ months)
    • Trust the process and keep improving

Getting the Most from 1:1s

  • Come prepared: Add agenda items throughout the week
  • Use the time: Don't just give status updates
  • Discuss growth: Career, skills, challenges
  • Ask questions: About company, team, or your work
  • Be honest: Share concerns early
  • Follow up: Complete action items between meetings

Best Practices

πŸ“ Giving Good Feedback

  • Be specific: "Great presentation on Q3 results" not just "Good job"
  • Be balanced: Share both strengths and growth areas
  • Be timely: Complete requests before deadline
  • Be constructive: Focus on behavior, not personality
  • Be kind: Feedback should help, not hurt

🎯 Setting Goals

  • Align with team: Your OKRs should support team goals
  • Make them measurable: "Reduce load time by 30%" not "Improve performance"
  • Stretch, don't break: Ambitious but achievable
  • Update regularly: Track progress weekly

πŸ’¬ Communication

  • Check Sizemotion daily: Don't miss feedback requests
  • Respond promptly: Acknowledge notifications within 24 hours
  • Ask for help: Use 1:1s to raise blockers
  • Share wins: Update progress on goals and projects

πŸ’‘ Pro Tips

  • Keep a "brag doc": Document wins throughout the quarter
  • Review past feedback: Before self-assessment, re-read previous reviews
  • Sync calendar: Enable calendar integration for 1:1 reminders
  • Use mobile app: Complete quick tasks on the go
  • Export feedback: Download review cycle summaries for your records

Troubleshooting

"I can't find my review"

Go to Performance > My Reviews. If it's not there, check if the review cycle is complete. Ask your manager or HR.

"I forgot my password"

Click "Forgot Password" on login screen. Enter your email to receive reset link.

"I wasn't invited to give feedback"

Review cycle campaigns select specific reviewers. If you expected to be included, ask the campaign organizer (usually HR or your manager).

Ensure image is under 2MB and in JPG/PNG format. Try resizing or using a different browser.
